Can I crop to a fixed aspect ratio?

Yes. Use the ratio buttons (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16) before you apply the crop. Freeform crop is available when you choose Free.

Does cropping change file format?

Cropping updates the pixels on the canvas. Export format is chosen when you compress or download — JPG, WEBP, PNG, and others are available on the main workflow.

Pages are drawn larger than the output width, then downscaled before JPEG. Higher zoom = sharper text, slower + more memory (up to 500%). 100% = no supersample.

AVIF → JPEG bridge — when supported, try canvas→AVIF→JPEG per page and keep the smaller JPEG (AVIF still isn’t stored inside the PDF). Retry stronger if needed — if the first pass isn’t smaller, run one stronger pass (lower width + JPEG quality).
